Having just read that your remains have been found I feel I have to write to tell you to rest in peace. I feel like I know you but I do not, my husband and myself go to Chamonix and we had been there when you went missing and we were also there when you were found. At last your family can say goodbye but they and many others whose hearts you have touched by knowing them or not will never forget you.
Rest in peace Blake, hope it's as beautiful up there as it is in your beloved Chamonix.
Sue and Simon Turoff.

You wouldn't have remembered me that well, but I remember you very well! You really were an extraordinary guy who pushed his life to the limit so many times and always seemed to come out unharmed/unscathed!
Gonna be strange without you around now buddy!

Hey Blake
I don’t know what technology they have up in their in Heaven but I hope your conquering the clouds and mountains of heaven just as good as you did down on earth!
****
What an amazing person you seemed to be, you certainly lived life to the full and no one can say that you sat about doing nothing!
***
Anyway if at all you can ever get the time to read this, take good care of your family from up there and keep an eye on them!
***
Reading about what you did and the places you went actually makes me want to do more interesting things with my own life I’ve always wanted to go rock climbing in the scenes you went to.
***
Take care and hope you are in Peace.

Anyone who was in that area rack your brains to think of anything at all that you may have seen or heard on that day. So often people think something may be so silly or unimportant to mention, but I believe anything at all could be meaningful.
I do not have any connection to this family at all but sincerely hope all works out well for them.
I have read this site it was linked from a recent news article. Blake if you are out there please try and send a message or a quick call just to say you are alive.

Dear Blake,
I've been reading all about you on the Friendsreunited page & would just like to say that the son I had in Jan 1963 & was made to give up for adoption found me in June 2003. I didn't know if in those 40 years he was dead or alive. Mothers always love & never ever forget their children. The anguish your Mum is going through is unbelievably unbearable. I do hope that wherever you are in the world you will see my message & get in touch with your family. If it's only to say hello I'm fine, it would tell them you are safe & well. God bless you & your anxious family

It seems quite strange writing this letter to a family I have never met before, but somehow I feel I know so much about Blake that I needed to write to let you know that I am thinking about you and I hope one day Blake will walk through your front door wondering what all the fuss was about.
I have read through just about everything on your website and I am truly saddened by what has happened. I am not a mother, but I know that my parents would do the same for me as you have done for Blake. I think you are an amazing family.
I have read all about Blake's memorial service and the words touched me deeply, especially from Blake's sister.
I think it is wonderful that you sit down and update your website for everyone to see what has been happening. Hopefully you will not be doing it for much longer when Blake comes home.
God bless you all and god bless Blake wherever you are.

Dear Blake
I have no idea who you or your family are, but I feel the pain that they are going through. I lost my darling Daughter, Dani, in April of this year and my heart is in a million pieces. When I read about you on the BBC News site, I was compelled to write to your Father with words of condolence. My Dani was your age. She would have been 26 on 2nd July this year so I feel something of a connection with your parents.
I hope that you are somewhere safe and well and that eventually, you find a way to communicate this to your family. Hopefully you will manage to go home where your loved ones can hold you close and feel peace in their hearts again. If something has happened to you and you can’t come home, then I send you my prayers and wish you peace.
God Bless, Blake, wherever you are.

Bonjour
Courage
Respectueusement
Mr PEPIN Michel

This prayer was sent to me from a man who has also lost a son in Nepal last year, he too was just 25 years old when he disappeared.
Loving God, the hope and protector of all humankind; bless those whose loved ones are missing.
The agony of not knowing whether someone is living or dead is a daily torture.
The uncertainty of life's future relationships hangs in limbo.
Hope rides a roller coaster. Yet each day must be lived.
Give unto your people the blessing of your grace that they may face each day with courage and
hope.
Guard their families from further danger and harm and hold them in the blessing of you love.
Amen.

Please come home, we miss you so much.
With so much love from 'The Family.'

This morning, Christmas Eve, I received this poem from Sarah, one of Blake's greatest friends. It is a message, but a kind of message from Blake, and when I was asked to do an interview for Radio Shropshire today, I read it out as I thought it was so special and relevant. I am sorry I don't know who wrote it, but here it is.
Christmas In Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights like heaven's stars reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not far away we really aren't apart
So be happy for me dear ones you know how I hold you dear
And be glad I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory of my undying love.
After all "LOVE" is the gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other near, as my Father said to do,
For I can't count the blessings or love He has for each of you.
So, have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear,
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

Blake, If your reading his please, please, please just call home to say you are ok. Your Mum obviously loves you very much & deserves to know you are ok, even if you don't want to go home. I have no idea who you are & have never met you. From what I can see you have a loving family & good friends who came to the aid of your Mum when she needed them. Please call home, I hope you can, Best wishes mate Gary Higgins, Liverpool.

Dearest Blake,
Where are you my love??? Everyone misses you so much and your family and friends are so desperate for some clues as to what happened on that awful night!
We have all tried to piece together what might have happened, some people thought you were out there somewhere, some thought you had been cruelly taken from us, but what every single person in the world that knows you thought and still thinks is how much they miss you and how much they love you and how much respect they have for every crazy thing you have packed into your 25years.
You are in our thoughts, our prays and always in our hearts Hartley!
Love your first friend,
Sarah XXXXX

This is a kind of a message that was sent to Blake just before we all left Chamonix. Two of Blake's friends who came to help search for him went down to the river and placed on it a 'Farmer's Weekly' and a croissant, two of the things Blake loved most! I found this ritual very touching and
something I know Blake would have appreciated.

Dear Blake,
I do not know you. As part of my work I 'attempt' to 'help' people find those who have gone missing. I have been in contact with your Mother and I
have told her that 'I' believe it is possible to find you. I believe 100% in a God, and I can only believe such a loving and supportive God would want
to help heal your situation. I also believe this God has his/her/its own way of healing situations and that the 'timing' and 'methods' of finding you
will be down to that God.
Blake, in your own way, if at the moment you do not want to be found, please do your very best to find an obvious and decisive way of telling us.
Otherwise Blake, so long as I am asked too, so long as I am able too and so long as I believe in what I am doing, I will do all I can, in a safe and
sensible manner to help your Family and Friends find you.
Rest easy-wherever you are Blake.
Best wishes,
Simon Owens (UK)

Just to let you know that we are all thinking of Blake and I hope that a good method of spreading the word is by forwarding the link to as many people as possible, which I have urged as many people to do as possible.
Everyone from Ellesmere is thinking of him.

Hi Blake,
I hope one day you are reading this wondering what all the fuss is about.
Lots of people will be glad to see you back and you will no doubt be wondering why.
Lets just hope you have had a bit of an adventure somewhere and somehow forgot to tell people where you had been !
Next time I am in Chamonix, I am there 2-3 times a year, I will look out for you. I often walk the banks of the river, usually from the camp site in les Praz all the way down through the town. maybe I will see you there, watching the brown waters rise and fall as they often do. Perhaps we will exchange comments about the conditions in the mountains or how high the water is for this time of year, the usual friendly idle chat as people often do around Cham’.
Anyway, here’s to seeing you safe and sound one day.
Thinking of you, as many of us in the mountaineering community are.
Regards,
Simon Wilson

Hello Blake
I was at school with you, many years ago. I, too, fell in love with climbing, particularly in Chamonix, and I, too, am training with HM Forces (in my case, the Royal Navy). It's a small world.
Wherever you are, please know that there are people at home who love you very much and are desperate to hear from you. Please get in touch.
All the best, my old friend.
Adrian Baugh.

"Nothing seems to do justice to how much fun we all had or how much we all love Blake.
I feel so lucky to have met Blake - he has played a huge role in my life over the last five years and we have had so many good times together - I cannot begin to do them justice on paper. I have so many stories and endless memories I could share. Instead I am sending you a few photos of some of the fab times we had- I think they speak for themselves! Blake meant the world to me and, like so many others, I miss him dearly. Beth x"

I hope your efforts are rewarded by Blake's safe return.
